Alright, let's get started with today's episode. Get ready to be inspired and empowered. Today we are going to address the three common roadblocks that often hinder teachers from embarking on the side hustle journey. The first one is fear. The second one is the uncertainty about what to do, and the third is the process the process on starting a side hustle and where to begin. Fear can be a formidable opponent holding us back from pursuing our passions. As educators, we're used to diving into the unknown, guiding our students to challenging subjects, complex tasks and other activities, but when it comes to starting our own side hustle or our own business. Fear can sneak in, whispering doubts in our ears. Remember, it's natural to feel afraid, but it shouldn't dictate our actions. The inspiration for my side hustle came unexpectedly.
Speaker 1:I had always dreamt of becoming an administrator, but I never anticipated the sacrifices that would come with that role. And to achieve my dream, I dedicated myself to study, earning a master's degree and taking on various leadership roles and responsibilities at school. Simultaneously, I worked as an instructional coach, providing support to teachers. My days were long and exhausting, and they only grew longer once I finally became that administrator. However, in that role, I found myself with hardly a moment to embrace my true passion for teaching and helping students thrive. That's the whole reason why I became a teacher. Instead, my days were consumed by an endless list of tasks data analysis, test planning, disciplinary matters you name it. Whatever surface, I had to take care of it, and it became a repetitive cycle that left me feeling disillusioned, reluctant to let go of the haunting fear failure. I held onto a dream with unwavering determination for what felt like an eternity.
Speaker 1:During that time, uncertainty tightly grits me, leading me to think about every move with careful contemplation. It was exhausting and I often thought must I endure this relentless discontent. Despite the blood, sweat and tears that I poured into becoming an administrator, pursuing this endeavor, I can't help but wonder if others are trapped by this same misery that engulfed me at that time. I found myself torn, desperately seeking solace. Peace guided something, yet I was unable to find the support or guidance that I was looking for.
Speaker 1:So during the Christmas break, around that time, my future took an unexpected turn, when I had a serendipitous encounter with an influencer. It all started with a random stumble upon a Facebook Live where this remarkable individual generously shared their writing and blogging journey. Their words resonated deeply, highlighting the power of giving back to the community, and little did I know that fate had something extraordinary in store for me. Fast forward to a workshop in Miami, and there I was face to face with the very person who had ignited a spark within me. He showed that it was able to happen, that this life could actually happen. It was a moment that marked the beginning of a new year.
Speaker 1:In newfound inspiration, with courage in my heart, I set sail into uncharted waters, unknown waters, armed with skills and determination to make a lasting impact in this online world. I had absolutely no clue where to begin. All the things became overwhelming, with countless options to navigate. But one thing I was certain of I possessed skills and talents that could be leveraged in this world my knack for planning lessons and organizing school functions I've done plenty of those turned out to be a valuable asset for an entrepreneur. Thinking on my feet, writing and teaching, writing and even mediating all those abilities proved to be invaluable in this space. And, just like me, I'm confident that you, too, possess a unique skill set and experiences that you've gained from a multitude of tasks and activities. Embarking on a side hustle can transform into a flourishing business, showcasing how the most brilliant idea sprout from the simplest needs. It's a journey filled with endless possibilities that allow you to harness your expertise and passion. There are so many possibilities, from virtually supporting fellow online entrepreneurs, starting a blog where you offer guidance and sharing insight gained through your own experiences in teaching or other hobbies, jumping into online tutoring, empowering students with knowledge and helping them reach their full potential online.
Speaker 1:Starting a side hustle does not only mean crafting and selling educational materials on platforms like teachers pay teachers. It can be so much more. The options are as limitless as a teacher's unwavering patience during a heated parent-teacher conference. So now that you know you can use your skills and talents to start a side hustle. How do you start?
Speaker 1:I faced that same question. Well, that question and many others what do I need to start? How much time will it take to manage a side hustle while also teaching full time? Do I need any special equipment or materials from my side hustle? Oh, the questions never stopped. I found myself faced with a ton of questions. It was a bit overwhelming and slowed me down once again. It was daunting facing all of those questions alone. I managed to piecemeal help and support from researching and buying this digital product or another and watching countless videos. What I really needed was someone to keep me focused and guided on this journey. Well, this is where I come in. Your side hustle should be an extension of your skills, not an additional source of stress.
Speaker 1:I've had the privilege of speaking to a group of teachers, just like you, who aspire to kick start a side hustle this year. However, they are plagued with fear and uncertainty and unsure of how to begin or what steps to take Same feelings I had when I first started. Yet they all share a common longing, a burning desire for more in their lives. They yearn to create financial options for themselves, breaking free from the reliance on a potential raise that might be in the works at a school district that still remains uncertain. This is about taking control of the one thing you have power over, both in the classroom and in your life, and that's yourself. In the upcoming weeks, I'll be teaming up with a group of teachers to personally guide them through this transformative process. This one-of-a-kind program empowers you to conquer your fears, uncover your unique talents and skills and embark on an exciting side hustle journey. Our program is designed to provide you with a personalized experience tailored to your needs. Unlike other programs where you simply watch videos and have limited interactions with the coach that's guiding the program, our program offers continuous support throughout your journey of finding the perfect side hustle for you.
Speaker 1:Looking back on your early teaching days, I'm sure you can vividly remember the moment when you were handed the keys to your classroom. You were equipped with a diverse roster of students with varying abilities and achievement levels and classroom curriculum that you had to differentiate and adapt. You had to analyze their data, manage the classroom, face parent teacher conferences and great assignments. Without the knowledge or a process on how to balance all of these demands, it was lonely for me. I vividly recall receiving a check-in from an instructional coach, from which I was immensely grateful. However, I found myself navigating that journey alone, making numerous mistakes without immediate guidance.
Speaker 1:Embarking on a side hustle doesn't have to be that challenging. So here's the exciting part. This program is different.
